Since it was revealed through our classroom discussion/research that we currently operate under the systemic curriculum, what are your thoughts concerning the following question:
How can a district best connect its pressing local needs to the content standards of the states, and how can the teacher address the student's own learning goals while teaching to the system's mandated goals?
In order to answer this question, we must first identify what the "pressing local needs" are, THEN relate them to the content standards (what are the 5 AQTS). After these questions can be answered, then we can move on to the second part of the question...how can the teacher address.....
Please do not respond to this question until 4:00. This will be an interactive discussion transpiring immediately between us. I know our class doesn't normally meet until 5:00, so if there is a problem with anyone responding to this blog by 4:00, please let me know and we'll bump the time back to 5:00 (since this is our regular scheduled time anyway).
I have heard from several people and 4:00 is not a conducive time for us to meet/blog; as such, we will blog at 5:00, which is our regularly scheduled class meeting time.
